A wide variety of volunteer jobs are available with the Riley County Historical Society and Museum. We are very pleased to work with volunteers to find a job that best matches volunteer skills and inclinations to Society and Museum needs. Some of our volunteer positions require extensive training and commitment; others are much more flexible in terms of time and training.

Some examples of Riley County Historical Society and Museum volunteer jobs are:

ARCHIVE ASSISTANT - help prepare finding aids for archives materials, or work on library/archives projects

COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT - assist with collections registration and care

DOCENT - give tours of the Riley County Historical Museum, Wolf House Museum, Goodnow House and Hartford House, or give special educational programs

INDEXER - help develop indexes of primary and secondary Riley County research sources

OFFICE ASSISTANT - general office duties, computer work

RECEPTIONIST - greet visitors, answer telephone

RESEARCHER - assist with research on Riley County history topics
