RCHS Program- John C. Fremont

Ron Wilson will present the program “John C. Fremont in History and in Riley County” Monday October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Headquarters Fire Station, 2000 Denison Avenue. 


John C. Fremont explored the place that became Manhattan and Riley County 175 years ago.  Ron Wilson is the Director of the Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development and an award winning cowboy poet.  He and wife Chris operate a ranch and rural event center/guest house, close to where Fremont visited.  In 2018 Ron was named one of “50 Kansans You Should Know” by Ingraham’s magazine.


The program is free and everyone is invited to attend.  No reservations are necessary.
